A Maternal Line Meditation

I love being a woman, and I love being a mother. And I love all of you, and I sincerely wish you a beautiful day that celebrates all the hard work and dedication you’ve put into being a mother.

And since having my daughter, I can’t help but think about my grandmother, even more so than when I had my son. I’m swooning over the idea that my daughter, Adelei’s, ovaries formed inside of me in the first trimester, and that millions of eggs formed inside those ovaries by the time she was born.

And that my eggs formed inside my mother's womb. Adelei’s eggs ultimately came from her grandmother, my mom, and my eggs from my grandmother, my mom’s mom.

Adelei’s eggs will eventually (hopefully) become my granddaughter’s.

The human body is just magnificent. Birth & reproduction is one of the many examples of everyday miracles.

Just like females inherit eggs, all babies inherit a Microbiome, and all the intelligence that comes with it. Mothers pass it on through birth.

I’ve shared the story and meditation, My Grandmothers Hands, as a teaching tool, to connect you will your ancestral lineage- what they ate, touched and loved.

Your food is sacred and our nutrition is one of our greatest tools and connections to our ancestral lineage. We can impact the health of future generations by what we eat, and how we live today.
